It’s been how long? A month!!!

Where does the time go?

You always hear people say that, but the month of May has definitely come and gone. Just realized it’s almost been a month since my last post.

I’m still pondering my previous post’s question, “Where should I begin working… creating a product or writing a post?” I want to be one of the successful teacher creators/collaborators on the web. I want to have eye-catching pins, which lead you to great blog entries, that then link to just the right product you were looking for to use with your kiddos.

First? Blog Post or Product?

Consistency in obtaining this goal has not been a strong suit for me. Due to life events (recuperating from knee surgery and E.H.B.~ El Hombre Bueno aka husband working out of town) getting in the way, I’ve really not thought much about this crossroads I seem to be at. Or maybe I have thought too much about it and can’t or won’t commit to a routine. If I’m honest I think it’s fear, yep fear. Who wants to fail? Or even feel like a failure?

Little voices saying, “You don’t have a clue, do you?”

Even though when I began the blog, got a DBA for Penguin Educational Iceberg, and began putting products on TeachersPayTeachers, I read and took to heart, all the Pinterest links concerning the “Top 5 things” you should do or never do when beginning a blog or online business. I’ve found it difficult to meet the challenges and push through my ignorance of online business skills and the nagging doubts in my abilities to learn what I need to learn to be successful. Which it why the month of May has gone by with only one post and no new products. Also during the past year, I’ve experienced spirts of continuity in writing posts and creating products due to my web-world learning curve. The dilemma of wanting a certain aspect/item incorporated into the blog/products, but not knowing how to do it. I faced the task of finding resources, taking time focusing on learning the new skill and overcoming the hic-ups involved as I implemented the new skill.

Blog Learning Curve

But, I can learn anything I put my mind to! Just ask my Momma!

Gladly taking a deep breath, exhaling, and cutting myself some slack, I’ve decided to focus on the good. I know that growth will only happen if I treat my blog/products like the business I desire. I can proudly acknowledge that I’ve learned a lot struggling to get pass the ups and downs of acquiring the skills to best utilize the following applications:

  • BlueHost  site name and hosting
  • WordPress site templates and so much more
  • Befunky  photo and collage designing FREE for basic editing
  • WP Beginners  guide for WordPress beginners in plain english
  • TeachersPayTeachers products created by educators for educators
  • WooCommerce   eCommerce platform to use with WordPress
  • Sumo  tools to grow your website

You know, speaking a fear out loud, lessens its grip. Writing this post has been therapy for me, thanks for being part of my session. With renewed pep in my step, I’ll talk to you soon, off to create something.
Be sure to check out the new products in my the store.

Until next time, learn something new today.
