Math TEKS for Ordinal Words and Abbreviations

Since Texas is my home base, I always have the TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) running through my creative process. If they aren’t your priority, I hope these Math TEKS easily correspond with your state’s/country’s standards.

Ordinal Words and Abbreviations

The goal of the following activities is to practice and master writing Ordinal Words and their Abbreviations to label items in order 1st -12th.

An Ordinal Words and Abbreviations Reference Chart is available for using at a station/center or use the Vocabulary Cards.

There are three designs for all recording sheets: 
**First, a kiddo version in color.
**Secondly, a kiddo version in grayscale.
**Finally, a “Self Check” version for either the kiddos or for the teacher/caregiver (For when you can’t think of checking one thing.).

“A” Shells  (in order)
1. Fill in the item’s missing label with the correct ordinal words for 1-12.
2. Fill in the item’s missing label with the correct ordinal abbreviations for 1-12.

“B”  Hermit Crab (in order)
1. Fill in the item’s missing label with the correct ordinal words for 1-12.
2. Fill in the item’s missing labels with the correct ordinal abbreviations for 1-12.

“C” and “D” Random Order with Various Items
